This coffee table (or bench) is made out of a Redwood Slab I purchased from a local lumber mill who gets their trees from local fallen and condemned trees.  It had significant cracking which I filled with black epoxy to stabilize and accentuate cracks.  The legs are steel with fillet brazed joinery.  The top is finished with an Oil/Poly/Wax mix and the legs were gun-blued then clear coated with a matte lacquer.
