Project "Sangaku" (which in Japanese translates to "mathematics
tablet") is the fusion of my passion for furniture making and my
fascination with computers and technology. I was disappointed with
most of the wood cases I'd seen and thought I could make an
improvement. The design is primarily influenced by Japanese Lamps
and Shoji screens which I'd been designing prior to this case. The
Japanese attention to detail carries over to the craftsmanship I used
on this case, which contains approximately 130 wood joints, most of
which were done by hand, and took 300 hours to construct.
