COMPUTER CASES
Building computer cases is a worldwide phenomenon where individuality is the goal.  I was
especially interested in this because I wanted to bring craftsmanship and tradition to
computers which is why I build all of mine with a combination of wood and aluminum or
acrylic.
Three Evils
After doing three Japanese inspired case mods in a row, one might expect one of two things – another
one, or something completely different—and that is what this case is. Until this case, I had never really
done any traditional modding of a pre-made case, I'd always designed and built my own. But thanks to
Cooler Master for sending me one of its Cosmos 1000 cases (in Italy no less), I had that opportunity.
Nakamura
Chiaroscuro
Chiaroscuro is my latest case inspired by the Beijing Digital building. The case is a 12 inch cube made out of ebony with a
second portion on bottom to house the rest of the electronics. There is a chassis made out of brushed black aluminum with
fan grilles cut out reminiscent of the design on the outside.
Sangaku
Sangaku is scratch built out of wood and acrylic. It has sliding shoji doors and a water color painting lit up by CCFLs on one
side. This case represents traditional Japanese wood working meeting state of the art computer technology.
Yuugou
Yuugou  features an aluminum chassis surrounded by a wooden shell made out of maple and curly Koa wood. The main
joints on the case were custom designed to require no glue but remain sturdy. The case has no wood glue whatsoever and
can be completely taken apart.
