Artist Philosophy
I believe it is important for every piece of furniture to have a soul
and express its own individuality through design, material
choices and its construction. I design each piece according to
this philosophy. I have a growing attraction to the art of
traditional fine furniture making so I am now minimizing the
amount of machine tools I use and utilizing Japanese hand
tools, which are an art form in themselves. I believe this practice
not only keeps the quality high, it helps give each piece the soul
it deserves.
I have been in furniture making since I could crawl but I am still
learning a lot with each project, thus, I don't currently like doing
the same projects over but I am always ready for a new
challenge.
My shop is currently based in San Luis Obispo California while I
attend Cal Poly, SLO for Architecture.
